Most plant shops sort by size and light. Small, medium, large; bright, low, indirect. Useful if you already know what you want. Useless if what you actually want is to say something.
The Purpose Plant started from a simple frustration: a bouquet says "I care" for about a week, then it's compost. A gift card says "I didn't know what to get." But a plant — the right plant, with the right words — keeps growing on a windowsill for years, quietly repeating the thing you meant.
So we built the shop backwards. Instead of species, we start with the moment: a fresh start, a thank-you long overdue, a grief with no right words, a just because. We match each moment to a plant whose nature actually carries it, write its meaning down, and hand you a card to make it yours.
Every plant is potted, packed by hand, and shipped Monday through Friday, usually within a day or two of your order. If it arrives worse for the journey, we replace it — no forms, no fuss. Living things deserve second chances; so do deliveries.
We're small, and we like it that way. Every order is one person trying to reach another. That's the whole business.
A living gift, chosen for what it means — not how it looks.
